Snohomish County is expanding outreach efforts to people experiencing homelessness throughout the county through a new pilot program, the SnoCo Agencies for Engagement (SAFE) team. The SAFE team includes physicians, community paramedics, social workers, and law enforcement officers. The SAFE team is visiting encampments and areas where people are known to congregate to assess individuals for COVID-19 symptoms and connect them to services as needed.

One person is unaccounted for after a two-alarm structure fire consumed a building in Waterville Thursday night.
"During the course of the fire containment, deputies learned one of the subjects reported to be at the location, prior to the start of the fire, is currently unaccounted for," according to a Friday morning press release from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

VIDEO: The Pasquotank-Camden EMS is taking action to try and better protect its patients and first responders.
Previously, it was wrapping one of its ambulances with plastic. Chief Jerry Newell said that unit was designated to pick up possible COVID-19 patients.
But then Newell said the department got an idea from Onslow County EMS in North Carolina.

Researchers have confirmed that there are several effective methods for decontaminating the N95 masks worn by health professionals so that they can be used more than once, the National Institutes of Health announced Wednesday.
A substantial body of research already showed that the masks, designed for one-time use, can be reused in a crisis.
