Pennsylvania fire chief is in danger of losing his job and it’s all because of where he lives

York City's Fire Chief had to make a choice. So, he chose his home. But because of that decision, he could lose his job by the end of this month. Residency requirements in the city of York require the fire chief to live within the city limits. Deardorff lives in West Manchester Township with his children and wife.

Ohio: Toledo Fire Department taking part in screenings that use dogs to detect cancer

VIDEO: According to the National Fire Protection Association, firefighters are 9 percent more likely to be diagnosed with cancer than the average American. The Toledo Fire and Rescue department is teaming up with Cancer Dogs, a Canadian company that uses dogs to detect possible cancer in someone's breath.

Report Sounds Alarm About Massachusetts Fire Station Conditions

An interim report on conditions at the fire station include plenty of reasons for alarm. Consultants have documented problems with airflow. Fire damages garage in Kelso, family of 3 treated for minor smoke inhalation

A family of three has been displaced following a garage fire in Kelso Monday night. At around 10:40 p.m., Cowlitz 2 Fire 7 Rescue and Longview Fire Department responded to a fire in the 1100 block of North 1st Avenue. Firefighters arrived to the scene and found fire in the garage. Officials said three occupants and their pets were able to make it out of the home.

Window shattered at Mount Vernon fire station

Mount Vernon Fire Chief Bryan Brice is considering his department lucky no one was injured after a window was shattered when a metal pipe used for smoking was thrown into the downtown fire station. The Mount Vernon Police Department was called to the fire station shortly after 7 a.m. to a report that a man had thrown a metal pipe used for smoking through one of the station’s windows and into a firefighter’s sleeping quarters.
