VIDEOS: Vacant Rhode Island mill reduced to rubble in fire

PHOTOS: An empty Woonsocket mill went up in flames and is now reduced to rubble as bricks lay in piles where the building once stood. "I’m sure everybody is shocked that building has been there for a long time,” said Woonsocket resident Robert Hayes. Firefighters say they got a call around 1:00 a.m.

'Get Out Now,' evacuation ordered for Chelan County town as Pioneer Fire containment levels drop

PHOTOS: The community of Stehekin in Chelan County is now under a Level 3 (Get Out Now!) evacuation alert due to the Pioneer Fire. The human-caused wildfire on the north shore of Lake Chelan, grew by about 1,200 acres between Saturday and Sunday. Containment of the fire has also dropped, going from 14% to 10% contained.

2 homes catch fire in Wilderness Rim

VIDEO: Two homes near North Bend caught fire early Monday morning, displacing seven people, according to Eastside Fire & Rescue. A fire ignited between the two homes at around 1 a.m. in the area of Southeast 174th Street in Wilderness Rim. The fire spread to both homes causing significant damage.

VIDEO: More than 1,500 cars burn in massive junkyard fire in Southern California

PHOTOS: At least 1,500 vehicles, if not more, inside of an estimated 20-acre junkyard in the Antelope Valley burned in a three-alarm blaze Thursday. Firefighters responded to reports of a “yard fire” at 421 W Ave I off of Sierra Highway in Lancaster just after 3 p.m., L.A. County Fire confirmed to KTLA.

New study in North Carolina hopes to learn more about the connection between PFAS and firefighters’ health
