Firefighters battle stubborn blaze outside Roche Fruit Co. in Yakima

Yakima Fire investigators are trying to figure out what caused crates belonging to Roche Fruit Co. to go up in flames overnight. Firefighters say they were called to a commercial structure fire in the area of North 3rd Avenue and Poplar Avenue around 8:30 Friday night. Arriving firefighters were met with massive piles of hollow crates in flames.

Everett-area firefighters rescue scared dog trapped on narrow ledge

PHOTOS: "Who needs the Marvel Universe when you've got firefighters?" That's what one commenter posted after seeing a tweet about the rescue of a dog that got trapped on a narrow roof ledge of an Everett home over the weekend. According to a post on South County Fire's Twitter page, the dog went out an open window onto the roof, but the ledge was so narrow that it couldn't turn around to get back to the window.

RV destroyed by fire along I-405 in Renton

An RV has been burned to its shell after it caught fire along I-405 in Renton Sunday afternoon. Flames began shooting from the RV as it sat disabled in the southbound lanes near the exit to Lake Washington Boulevard, according to Renton Fire. The RV eventually became fully engulfed, and by the time firefighters got the fire out, all that was left was a charred frame.

Bikers ride Spirit Lake Memorial Highway in DeRosier memorial ride

On an otherwise still morning near Mount St. Helens’ Johnston Ridge Observatory, it was hard to miss the sound of more than 100 motorcycle engines raring up Spirit Lake Memorial Highway. Clad in leather jackets and sunglasses, the bikers made the roughly 60-mile ride Saturday morning from Kelso for what they hope to be only the first year of the annual Deputy Justin DeRosier Memorial Ride.
