Firefighters battled a 2-alarm blaze early Wednesday morning at an abandoned lumber mill in Snohomish. The fire began at about 12:45 a.m. near Harvey Airfield east of SR 9. The first units on scene arrived to find the building engulfed in flames and called for additional help, going to a second alarm, according to Asst.

The Washington State Department of Natural Resources has announced they are sending crews to help a hand in Alaska with fires. The Department of Resources sent a press release on Tuesday with the following information: This week, the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) dispatched 69 more wildland firefighters to Alaska to help fight the raging, record-breaking wildfires there.

So far, this wildfire season is much quieter than in past years. We haven’t seen the large wildfires we typically see by now, and we’ve seen only a couple smoky days all summer long. However, fire officials are warning the public against getting complacent about fire safety, as we still have weeks left of fire season.

A man's body was found Tuesday while firefighters were putting out a brush fire in Renton. The Renton Police Department says smoke was seen near Oakesdale Ave SW around 5 p.m. with reports of explosions also being called in. When firefighters got to the scene, they found the victim. His identity hasn’t been released.

Wilmington Fire Department celebrated the arrival of a new engine at a “roll-in” ceremony, reports WWAY 3.

The newly equipped truck is worth $639,000. Engine 3 will be housed in Station 3 located off Cinema Drive. The engine contains a more efficient pump, front suspension, diesel engine, electrical system, generator, LED light and siren package, and front and side air bars.
