Investigators are taking a close look into the cause of a Monday morning SUV fire outside a home in Graham. It was the latest in a series of suspicious vehicle fires in Pierce County. Firefighters responded to the scene, in the 10500 block of 197th Street, at around 6:15 a.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle fire.

South County Fire has released additional information about the two juveniles who died in a fire that engulfed a Lynnwood townhouse Sunday. The victims found in the Lynnwood Townhouse apartments, in the 6700 block 196th Street Southwest, were siblings — a 15-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy — from Shoreline, said South County Fire spokesperson Leslie Hynes.

Franklin County firefighters quickly put out a motor home fire Monday afternoon, but they found out in an unusual way. Shortly before 12:00 p.m., a fire ignited on Roberta Road near Road 36. Before dispatchers got ahold of the fire department, someone walked into their fire station and told them a motor home was on fire.

Nearly 2,000 chickens died in an outbuilding fire in Ephrata Saturday night. Firefighters from Grant County Fire District 13 were returning home from a crash on Dodson Road when they saw the large outbuilding on fire. The structure was near Neva Lake Road and Railroad Avenue. D13 and Ephrata firefighters rushed to the scene to extinguish the blaze, which took about 20 minutes.

A newly constructed garage on Miracle Rd. was incinerated Saturday night near Waterville on Badger Mountain. Orondo firefighters say the fire was reported just before 9p.m. The owner had been working in the garage, went home and when he returned, he found it fully engulfed. Firefighters suspect that a wood stove that was being used to heat the building caused the blaze.
