Firefighters have determined how much monetary damage Baker Produce sustained from a massive blaze at their Kennewick facility. According to Kennewick Fire Capt. Brian Ellis, there is several million dollars worth of damage. That includes the structure, product, and equipment inside. On Aug. 13, the fire broke out at 212 W Railroad Avenue near North Fruitland Street and West Canal Drive.

Grant County Fire District #3 recently installed a three foot by eight foot, full color LED reader board sign in front of their Central Ave station in Quincy. According to a press release from the fire district, roughly 6,000 vehicles pass the fire station daily. The sign was fully funded by a grant from FEMA, at a cost of $31,000.

A fire truck responding to an accident went out of control heading down an emankment, reports the Indiana Gazette.

Three firefighters had been strapped into their seats and freed themselves from the truck after it crashed through the guardrail.

Cherryhill Township Fire Chief Jody Rainey said the firefighters were sent to Indiana Regional Medical Center for checkups as a precaution. The driver was given a mandated alcohol and drug screening, he said.

Lexington officially opened its first new fire station in more than a decade, reports Lexington Herald Leader.

The 15,338-square foot, two-story station will help the fire department improve response times.

Fire station 24 is the first new station built since 2006 when Fire Station 22 was built in Veterans Park. But it’s been in the works for nearly a decade as the city’s growth demanded an additional fire station on the northwest side of Lexington.

A 71-year-old fire truck has returned to town of Westville, N.S., reports CBC.

The truck is a 1948 GMC American-LaFrance. It carries about 730 metres of hose and 150 gallons of water.

The truck was eventually retired and sold from buyer to buyer, until it ended up in an Ontario barn.
