Car Hits Lexington (KY) Fire Apparatus in Third Accident Involving Emergency Vehicles

 
 

The crash occurred around 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Nicholasville Road and Malabu Drive intersection.  

The driver of the car involved in the crash was sent to a hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening, according to Lt. Chris Van Brackel.

Three people inside the fire truck andwere uninjured, Van Brackel said. The firefighters were responding to a reported gas leak, and the truck’s lights and sirens were on. The woman driving the car had a green light, and she told police she did not see the fire truck, according to Van Brackel.

Brookfield (CT) Retires Fire Apparatus

 
 
The last fire truck BVFC sold ended up with a second career as the Fire Engine Pizza Co. in Bridgeport. The current truck being sold is a 1985 E-One Hurricane Pumper with a canopy cab that seats 5. The asking price is $15,000 and the mileage is a low 26,550.

'I'm already scared': Kent neighbors fed up with nearby homeless camp

Flames burned through a homeless camp in a heavily wooded area of Kent Wednesday morning -- just one of several disturbances Kent neighbors are dealing with. Neighbors say they have been complaining about campers in those woods for years. Several people said they see people walking along the tracks heading in and out of the woods.

Clallam County Fire District 3 looks to renew EMS levy this November

Clallam County Fire District 3’s leaders will ask voters to renew a 10-year Emergency Medical Services property tax levy in the Nov. 5 General Election. Fire commissioners voted unanimously July 2 to seek to continue the EMS levy rate not to exceed $0.50 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation through 2030.
