A Cessna 414 plane crashed into a suburban New Jersey home Tuesday morning, igniting a massive fire and completely destroying the house, local fire officials said.
The crash was in Colonia, about 22 miles outside of New York City. Video from the scene shows massive flames and plumes of smoke rising into the air.

At least 13 shots were fired into the Ona Volunteer Fire Department building, damaging three trucks, Cabell County Sheriff Chuck Zerkle said Tuesday. The sheriff said someone shot through the station’s garage doors, hitting three truck’s radiators and transmission lines. As a result, two of the trucks will be out of service.

The town’s full-time firefighters say the current paid firefighting service is too thin for a town of York’s size, and they are seeking residents’ support to add two more people to their ranks. But as much as they seek relief from their 56-hour work week, it is just as important to them that the town hire a full-time paid fire chief.

One person was found dead after an RV caught fire in Everett Wednesday morning.
A person driving along the U.S. 2 trestle spotted flames along Riverside Avenue and called 911 to report a possible illegal burn, according to Heather Chadwick with Snohomish County Fire District 7. As firefighters were heading there, a second call came in reporting a house fire in the 5300 block of the avenue.

A gutsy Good Samaritan who just happened to be passing by rescued an elderly woman from her home as it erupted in flames Wednesday morning in Silverdale, fire officials said.
The drama unfolded at around 7:15 a.m. as a man who was taking his son to school spotted flames and smoke coming from the woman's home in the 10000 block of Frontier Place NW, said Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue spokesperson Ileana LiMarzi.
