Fire at Share House in Vancouver displaces 58 homeless men

Fifty-eight homeless men were displaced by a small fire late Tuesday night at the men’s shelter in downtown Vancouver. The fire at Share House, 1115 W. 13th St., was reported at 10:50 p.m. It originated on the top floor in a room shared by two residents, Share Deputy Director Amy Reynolds said. Neither resident was in the room at the time.

The DuPont Fire Department purchased two new fire engines

These replaced the 1983 Sutphen Engine, the 1995 H&W Engine, and the 2004 Pierce Engine. The City sold the three engines for a combined total of approximately $113,000, which went into the Equipment Rental & Revolving Fund (ER&R) that helped pay for the new engines. Unlike our previous fire engines, these two Spartan fire trucks are identical making training more efficient, easier, and faster.

Lake Chelan fire chief moving on after decade-long tenure

Wednesday marked the end of an era for the city of Chelan and one of its top emergency management officials. After ten years of service to the resort town of 4,200 residents, Chelan County Fire District No. 7 Chief Tim Lemon is retiring. “Of the forty years (of his career) this is probably the ten years I enjoyed the most,” Lemon told us.

Elkhart Firefighters Building Pub Feels Like Old Fire Station

A new pub will soon be calling downtown Elkhart home.

But it's not your traditional bar. This is being built entirely by firefighters.

They wanted a place to hold their meetings and fundraising events, but also a place for the community to enjoy.
