The Gilmore and Golda Reynolds Foundation has awarded $250,000 to the Osgood Volunteer Fire Department to buy a new fire truck, reports Eagle Country.

The Town of Osgood is adding in $10,000 a year to help pay off the remaining balance. The volunteer fire department will also continue fundraising until the truck is fully paid.

 

The Collins Fire Department is using a new custom-built fire truck to enhance protection of petroleum tank farms and terminals, reports WDAM 7.

CFD received its industrial municipal pumper a few weeks ago. It was built in Florida at a cost of $850,000.

It was paid for by a grant from the the Mississippi Development Authority. Firefighters have used it on several training exercises.

Tiffin Fire Association now has a ladder truck that can reach up to 101 feet, reports KCRG 9.

Fire Chief Brian Deetert said it’s taken a lot of training for the 22 members to get used to operating the 47.5-foot long engine.

The conversation about getting the ladder engine started three years ago when the Park Place Development was announced and firefighters picked it up last August.

The Middletown Fire Department is donating a truck to the Caribbean island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, reports WLWT 5.

Currently the island nation uses a pickup truck with a small tank of water in the back.

The fire department is also including a fan, a self-contained breathing apparatus and multiple ground ladders.

The station house at Kalkaska Township Fire Department Station No. 7 might soon have a new addition to its fleet of emergency vehicles, reports The Review.

The Village Council was scheduled to formally authorize the conveyance of a vintage 1920s Ford fire engine to Station No. 7. The truck is currently in storage at the village's DPW facility.

The vintage fire truck had been stored at the Kalkaska Clean Water Treatment Plant before being moved to the village’s Department of Public Works garage at the Kalkaska Village Offices.
