Spokane Valley firefighters focusing on stabilizing & securing during Rodda Paint fire investigation

Firefighters are continuing to investigate what caused a massive fire to spark at the Rodda Paint store in Spokane Valley. Just after 6:30 p.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to a fire at the paint store on Sprague Avenue. Crews spent more than two hours hosing the building down before the flames were under control.

Dallas Fire-Rescue Ambulance In Accident With Patient On Board

 
 
 

The ambulance was heading to the hospital with a patient so another rescue unit had to finish transporting the patient. The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Medics and an intern were also taken to the hospital for precaution, but they are expected to be in good conditions.

Charleston (SC) SUV Stolen from Fire Station

 
 

Charleston Police say an officer in nearby Goose Creek spotted the stolen SUV minutes after it was taken around 10 a.m. Sunday and started chasing it. Police say the driver didn't stop for several miles until running over spiked sticks placed in the road by Charleston officers.

Authorities say no one was injured, and the driver was taken into custody. The driver's name or any possible charges have not been released.

Riverview Fire and Rescue (MO) Slides on Ice at Vacant Home Fire

 
 

At the same time, Riverview Fire and Rescue crews were dealing with an emergency of their own.  One of their fire trucks slid down an icy decline, smashing into a Northeast fire truck.  The unintended crash caused some damage but no one was hurt.  

Officials tell FOX 2 that the cause of the fire is still under investigation. As for the smashed trucks, those are still operable.

Quincy (MI) Getting New Fire Apparatus

Zuzga says in his report for Tuesday’s Quincy Village Council meeting that the final price was over $666,000. He went to say, “I am working with local financial institutions to finalize a financing package and will present to the Township to approve this month. We need to pay the full amount by March 1 to ensure we receive a $21,743 advance payment discount.”  

The purchase of the fire truck has led to some strained feelings on the Quincy Fire Association Board after Pierce Manufacturing made the only bid at over $712,000.
