Blaze destroys Aberdeen's historic Armory building

History was lost in Grays Harbor County after a massive fire tore through the historic Aberdeen Armory Saturday morning. Video from the scene showed flames of the three-alarm fire and a column of black smoke erupting from the roof of the 96-year-old building, frequently used for community events and houses the Aberdeen Museum of History - which has an entire section dedicated to Aberdeen native Kurt Cobain and iconic grunge band Nirvana.

2 adults, 3 children dead in cabin explosion in Jefferson County

A family of five died when a rental cabin in Brinnon, Washington exploded Sunday morning. The Jefferson County Sheriff's office said neighbors called 911 about 1 a.m. after hearing an explosion and seeing a large fire. During their investigation, firefighters initially found two people. Hours later, they discovered three additional bodies inside what was left of the cabin.

New firefighters participate in wildland training in Wapato

Yakima County Fire District 5 conducted a wildland training field day for new and current firefighters on Sunday morning in Wapato. The training took place west of the intersection of Philip John Road and North Olden Way. The new firefighters learned how to operate pumps, how to fight fire with fire and how to create fire breaks.

Spokane Valley: Slash fire causes explosion, sparks larger fire near East Valley High School

Homeowners near East Valley High School had an early wake-up call Saturday morning, when they heard a loud noise around 9:45 a.m. Homes in the area started to shake. "To move a house and shake everything from a percussion from an explosion like that is pretty large," neighbor James Beamish told KHQ.

Two teens arrested in arson at Lake Stevens Boys & Girls Club

Two teenage boys have been arrested in connection with an arson last week that caused extensive damage to the Lake Stevens Boys & Girls Club, police said. The two suspects, a 13-year-old and a 16-year-old, were identified based on a tip from a neighbor. Both have been booked into the Denny Juvenile Justice Center, a Lake Stevens police spokesman said.
