Restored 1952 Abilene (TX) Fire Apparatus to be Displayed

When developer Tim Smith was approached by a former Abilene fire fighter to look at the 1952 fire truck he fell in love with it.It seemed like a perfect fit to display in the revitalized SoDA District. "It looked like it was in a wrecking yard. It was sad wanting someone to get a hold of it. I probably almost bit off more than I could chew. It had been painted so many times over the years it had to pretty much be brought back down to the bare metal and start over again so it's been a fun process it's just taken some time to get done," Danny's Auto Clinic owner, Danny Hogue said.

Old Art Deco Tulsa Fire Station For Sale

Built in 1931 by Tulsa architect A.J. Love, this art deco fire station has been used as storage for the past two decades.

John Beasley says he’s now looking for the right buyer who will respect the historical and architectural importance of the building.  

“This building is significant, both as a civic structure, because of the architect, and just the design of this building,” he said.

He says the 2,155 square foot building is in desperate need of some TLC.

Seattle firefighter helps police catch hit-and-run suspect

A Seattle firefighter who helped police catch a suspected drunk driver after a hit-and-run just feet from a fire station told KOMO News that he was just in the right place at the right time. A woman was hit by a pickup truck Tuesday while crossing 38th Avenue Southwest with her dog near Seattle Fire Station 32 in West Seattle.
