Perrysburg (OH) Begins Work on Fire Station

LIT president Dr. Lonnie Howard accepted the keys for the fire truck on behalf of the fire academy.

Two Injured in Crash Involving Fire Apparatus in Fair Grove (MO)

Investigators say the driver of a pickup failed to yield, crashing into an Ebenezer Fire Department truck. The pickup then slide into another vehicle, pinning a man standing on the side of the road. He suffered serious injuries. The driver of the pickup suffered minor injuries.  

Investigators tell us the fire truck was heading to a grass fire off of Morgan Lane. Firefighters evacuated homes in that area because of the fire. Fair Grove, Ebenezer, Willard, Walnut Grove and Ash Grove responded

Europe's First Electric Fire Apparatus Ready for Response

The all-electric fire truck has been 2 years in development, and is seen as a good fit for rapid response situations, with charging undertaken on site at the FHKW-Mitte fire station between calls. The vehicle is based on Rosenbauer's KLF-L emergency vehicle, which is itself based on a Mercedes Sprinter, and is 7.45 meters (24.4 ft) long with a 4.325 m (14.1 ft) wheelbase. The conversion to an electric powertrain is reported to have taken around 2 months.

Large Fire Claims Elma Home Thursday Morning, No Injuries Reported

No injuries were reported at the scene of a large fire this morning in Elma that consumed a home, motor home, and vehicle in the driveway. Elma Fire Chief Tyson Boling said that crews arrived at the 100 block of Heritage Drive within 2 minutes of the 911 call at 2:25 am Thursday morning. The first engine on scene reported the roof had already collapsed into the building.
