Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Control District (FL) Donates Fire Apparatus

"This truck has served us very well for more than 20 years," M?PIFCD Chief Benjamin Mickuleit said. "When we had two new trucks delivered last year, we decided that the best use for our old truck was to donate it to a department that needs a newer truck."

"Upper Captiva has a very small tax base and a new truck is out of the question," Upper Captiva Fire Chief Bob Kinniry said. "Our old truck is a 1988 Pierce fire truck and the salt water environment and the rainy season takes its toll on all of our equipment."

Petzl to Debut New DUO Headlamps at FDIC International 2018

Petzl, the leader in professional verticality and lighting equipment, will showcase the new DUO line of headlamps—an intuitive lighting solution for operations and maintenance work in harsh environments—at FDIC International 2018.

The three new headlamps debut Petzl-exclusive FACE2FACE anti-glare technology, allowing for automatic simultaneous dimmed lighting when two or more beams cross. The DUO Z1 and Z2 meet the requirements of the ATEX certifications for hazardous areas, while DUO S is ideal when high lumen output is needed.

“The new FACE2FACE anti-glare technology completely changes how teams work together,” said Caleb Krausmann professional division marketing manager for Petzl North America. “These headlamps allow teams to be more efficient and provide them with a new level of brightness. We couldn’t be more excited to reveal this new line.”

The new headlamp line includes the DUO S, DUO Z1, and DUO Z2.

The DUO S ($449.95) is ultra-powerful with 1100 lumens in BOOST mode, making it the most powerful rechargeable headlamp in the lineup. It features five lighting modes and can last between four and 23 hours on a single charge, depending on brightness setting.

The DUO Z1 ($449.95) has a maximum 360 lumens of lighting and runs on a rechargeable battery. It features a multi-beam with four lighting modes, making it adaptable to every work situation. The DUO Z1 can last between seven and 23 hours, dependent on brightness setting. It meets ATEX zone 1/21 certification requirements for work in hazardous areas.

DUO Z2 ($249.95) is a powerful multi-beam headlamp with 430 lumens in BOOST mode. DUO Z2 can last between two and 15 hours, dependent on brightness setting and runs on standard batteries. It meets ATEX zone 2/22 certification requirements for work in hazardous areas.

All headlamps can be worn on Petzl VERTEX and ALVEO helmets using the helmet mounting clips or the included mounting plates, and on any other helmet using the PRO ADAPT accessory. The collection will be available Spring 2018 at specialty retailers and at Petzl.com.

The products can be viewed at Petzl booth 523 at FDIC International, April 23-28, 2018 in Indianapolis, Indiana. For more information, please visit www.petzl.com.

Tempest Fireco Towers Is Now Fireco US

Tempest Fireco Towers has changed its name to Fireco US. The company was formerly managed by Tempest Technology, Inc. and was housed in their headquarters on Blythe Avenue in Fresno, California. Tempest Technology was sold in April of 2017 to a foreign entity and was no longer charged with managing Tempest Fireco Towers, owned by Dexter Coffman and Christian Baribbi. In July 2017 two new partners, Jesse Peralez, Jr and his wife Paley Peralez, were brought on to manage the new company and oversee day to day operations. Fireco US is now operating out of a new office located on Gateway Avenue in Fresno, California.

“We are excited about the addition of Fireco US to our family of businesses”, says Jesse Peralez, who also owns Cooper Chase Construction and Peralez Masonry. “Fireco is a respected product that can span multiple industries and we are confident that we can grow market share in the United States and Canada.” Since taking over management Fireco US has expanded its sales force with the addition of John Townsend, a seasoned sales professional with over twenty years of sales and marketing experience in various industries.

Fireco US will be participating in multiple trade shows this year, independent of Tempest Technology. Fireco US will be attending Firehouse World, ISC West, The California Mobile Command Center Rally, AUSA and the Pacific Northwest Tow Show.
