San Diego fire chief leaving for job in Orange County

San Diego Fire-Rescue Chief Brian Fennessy is leaving the job after two-and-a-Shalf years for a position leading the Orange County Fire Authority. He will be replaced on an interim basis by Kevin Ester, who has been serving as assistant chief of business operations. Reaching out to women, Maryland department drops the word ‘firemen’

It’s a change to just half of a word, but the newly christened firefighters of one Maryland county, who happen to be women, say it makes all the difference.
