San Antonio Mayor to Firefighter Union: 'The clock is ticking still — 1,254 days later'

For the ninth time, the city has sent a certified letter to attorneys representing the San Antonio Professional Firefighters Association to request the union meet with city negotiators to come up with a new contract between the parties. Mayor Ron Nirenberg made the announcement Wednesday during a press conference at city hall.

Tennessee firefighter missing after vehicle plunges into river

Day four of rescue efforts resumed Thursday morning in hopes of finding a Nashville firefighter who disappeared Monday morning after his truck plummeted into the Tennessee River in Humphreys County. Nashville Fire Department firefighter Jesse Reed, 32, went missing early Monday after his vehicle plunged into the water near Mason's Boat Dock in Waverly, authorities said.

FirstNet Buildout Launches Nationwide as Public Safety Core Nears Delivery

FirstNet’s nationwide footprint is expanding. The First Responder Network Authority has given its partner, AT&T, the green light to build out FirstNet, the nationwide public safety broadband network. This includes deploying public safety’s dedicated spectrum – Band 14 – across statewide radio access networks in states and territories across the country.
