Woman Hijacks Ambulance, Leads Police On Extensive Chase

SAN ANTONIO – A woman hijacked an ambulance and led police on a lengthy chase.

It all started at about 3:45am early Sunday morning when EMS got a call for medical response at a home in the 7200 block of Timber Creek on the West Side. While they were inside tending to their patient, a woman in her 20s jumped into the ambulance and took off.

She wasn’t hard to spot because she left the red lights flashing. After a report of a woman driving an ambulance erratically down Culebra Street, police started following her.

Ambulance hits motorcycle on its way to scene

Officers said the motorcyclist suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital, and there were no injuries to the ambulance staff.

 

Officers believe the crash occurred because the motorcyclist either did not stop or slow down for the ambulance, which had its sirens on.

The ambulance and motorcycle sustained minor to moderate damage.

One of Two Foresthill Fire Stations Closes Its Doors

Response times to the neighborhood will be about 5 minutes longer.

Now three firefighters, not four, will be covering the town. They'll be working out of the remaining open fire station. When there's a major emergency, they'll need to rely more heavily on the neighboring fire departments, where resources may also be stretched thin.

Car Hits Fire Truck At Accident Scene

he vehicle, that was apparently traveling too fast in conditions, lost control.

"Fortunately there were no injuries, but there very easily could have been," the Facebook post said.

The fire district reminded drivers to always move over to the open lane and slow to 20 miles per hour under the speed limit while passing an emergency scene, per Montana state law.
