Firefighters in one Colorado city now using wristband tool to better communicate with hospitals

VIDEO: Colorado Springs firefighters are reflecting on how to better communicate with local hospitals after Club Q. 11 News spoke with the Colorado Springs Fire Department one year after Club Q, which has rolled out a tracking technology by Pulsara. Firefighters put wristbands on patients, connecting to an app, which gives real-time information to hospitals so medical staff can prepare.

One displaced, 4 cats dead after kitchen fire in north Spokane

VIDEO: A kitchen fire in north Spokane left one person displaced and four cats dead Monday afternoon. According to the Spokane Fire Department (SFD), a stovetop fire escalated into a kitchen fire around 1:54 p.m. on Dec. 11. SFD was told someone in the 6800 block of North Atlantic Ave came home to black smoke filling their apartment.

Puget Sound Fire honors longtime board members Thomas, Barrie

PHOTO: Puget Sound Fire recently recognized outgoing board members Les Thomas and Allan Barrie for their 13 years of service. Thomas and Barrie are original members of the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority (RFA) Governance Board formed in 2010 after voters approved the merger of the Kent Fire Department and Fire District 37.

VIDEO: Fire breaks out at abandoned historic Indiana high school building, authorities say

There was a large fire at an abandoned school building early Sunday in Gary, Indiana. Firefighters worked through the night to put out a massive blaze at the old Ralph Waldo Emerson High School. Tennessee tornadoes leave at least 6 dead, dozens hurt and more than 35,000 without power
