Pierre Regional Airport'S New Fire Station Gets Good Reviews During Open House

The Pierre City Commission approved the idea in September 2016  after winning competitive bidding for federal “discretionary” funds that would mean the city would pay only 5 percent of the cost, while the state would match that 5 percent, thereby qualifying for federal funding for 90 percent of the more than $2 million projected cost. That truck was "deemed out of service indefinitely due to the need for several major repairs that more than outweighed the value of the truck," according to a memo from Bucossi.
