The Gray fire began around noon on Friday, prompting evacuations in the communities of Medical Lake and Four Lakes. They're working tirelessly through the heavy smoke, wind and flames to save what's left of the Medical Lake Community. Fire crews say the Gray Fire is a tough and challenging fire to fight. After long shifts they come to the middle school and either sleep in tents or inside classrooms.

VIDEO: Pierce County has seen one of the most active brush fire seasons this year in western Washington. Graham Fire & Rescue responded to two brush fires within three days. One of those brush fires burned three acres of land on someone’s property on Saturday along Highway 7. The flames destroyed the owner’s RV, multiple cars, and an outbuilding.
