Seattle: Massive flames engulf Ballard home

Massive flames engulfed a vacant home in Ballard late Sunday. The home that caught fire at about 11 p.m. was one of three near 15th Avenue Northwest and Northwest 80th Street that are boarded up. The city fenced off the homes a few days ago because there was a squatter in one of the other homes. Fire crews had to cut through the chain link fence to access the home and then also cut through the boards on the home to get inside.
