No one hurt in fire at south Everett home

A family of six was displaced after a fire broke out in the attic of their south Everett home on Sunday morning. No one was injured. The local chapter of the American Red Cross was assisting the family of two adults and four children, said Leslie Hynes, a spokeswoman for South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue.

Longtime Pacific County Fire Commissioner McLeod dies

Pacific County Fire District 1 has scheduled a meeting to fill a vacancy on its board of commissioners at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at the Ocean Park station, 26109 Ridge Ave. Longtime Commissioner Greg McLeod, 79, died on Nov. 30 in Long Beach. According to his biography on the fire district’s website, McLeod had served on the three-member commission since 2007.
