Antique Fire Truck Show at the Chippewa Valley Museum

The public is invited to experience a unique collection of antique fire engines and equipment at an Antique Fire Truck Show from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 23 on the front lawn of the Chippewa Valley Museum in Eau Claire's scenic Carson Park.

This one-day-only exhibit will include the museum’s own 1931 Seagrave Pumper Truck, a 1960s High Top ambulance, late 1800s hose carts, and at least six additional fire trucks dating from the early 1940s through early 1970s. Owners of the vehicles will be available to answer questions and engage in discussion throughout the afternoon.

Flare - An Uber for emergency services in Nairobi, Kenya - Ventures Africa

After five years of working in tech and healthcare in East Africa, Maria Rabinovich and Caitlin Dolkart asked themselves one very important question: how is it that people can easily get a cab or food at the click of a button, but not an ambulance?

This one-day-only exhibit will include the museum’s own 1931 Seagrave Pumper Truck, a 1960s High Top ambulance, late 1800s hose carts, and at least six additional fire trucks dating from the early 1940s through early 1970s. Owners of the vehicles will be available to answer questions and engage in discussion throughout the afternoon.


There are also plans to expand the fleet and add private security and police. Users are rest assured that the companies and ambulances on Flare have adequate insurance, registration, certification, personnel and equipment.

North Las Vegas Firefighters to Get New Aerial Ladder Truck

North Las Vegas firefighters will get a new aerial ladder truck under a $1.3 million spending plan approved Wednesday night. The City Council agreed to buy the truck and accompanying firefighting equipment for $1.25 million from Pierce Manufacturing Inc.

Grant County Fire District 5 debuts new tender

After nearly a year of work, Grant County Fire District 5’s newest water tender is on the road for fire season. The former propane truck, one of two chassis the district purchased for about $70,000 from Canada, was built by district personnel, not only allowing the district to save money, but giving them the ability to customize the tender with equipment they know works for wildfires in the area.

Update: Crews dealing with increasing costs, burial grounds in Bateman Island Fire

It's been burning for nearly a week, and we learned today that the fire on Bateman Island is racking up a hefty bill. We can't give you an exact number, but Richland Fire Chief Tom Huntington estimates fighting this fire has cost close to $100,000. But unlike most wildfires that are funded by state or federal agencies, because Bateman Island is part of Richland city property, the bill for this fire is falling on the city's lap.
