Patient Assaults Three New Windsor (NY) EMTs, Attempts to Hijack Ambulance

Three New Windsor volunteer emergency medical technicians were assaulted Sunday evening while driving a patient to the hospital, according to an official with the ambulance corps.
During the ride, the woman became agitated, Bigg said, and punched one of the two EMTs riding with her in the back of the ambulance. She then pepper-sprayed them both as well as the driver.

While the crew was blinded by the spray, she moved to the front and tried to drive the ambulance.

Fort Worth (TX) Firefighters Battled Small Fire in Fire Station

A fire erupted in a fire truck parked in a fire station early Sunday, but firefighters quickly extinguished it and no injuries were reported, a fire official said. The cause of the fire was under investigation. The fire was reported shortly before 4:30 a.m. at Station 32, 10201 White Settlement Road.
Firefighters reported one of the trucks on fire. The station had a fire engine, a brush truck and a dive truck parked in the station, fire Lt. Kyle Falkner said Sunday in a telephone interview.

The brush truck was used to extinguish the fire, Falkner said.

Vintage Fire Truck from Yukon Restored in Blenheim

A dream 25 years in the making. More than two decades ago members of the volunteer fire department for Dawson City, Yukon decided they wanted to restore their horse-drawn steam pumper from the 1890s. For many years it just sat outside the fire department.

For many years it just sat outside the fire department. They chose to save the money they would receive to fight a fire in order to get enough funds to restore the pumper back to its original state.


It's taken 19 months and $250,000, but soon their No. 2 steam fire engine will be back in Dawson City. It was among the first vehicles ever used by the fire department.

Former Mayor Cook Donates Fire Truck to Small Chihuahua City

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - Former El Paso Mayor John Cook made a generous donation to a small Mexican city Friday. Cook presented a 1980 American La France fire truck to a fire department located in Temósachic, located about 300 miles southwest of Ciudad Juarez.

Local Volunteer Fire Station May Close if Repairs Aren't Made Soon

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) - A local fire station is in dire need of repairs and on Monday night, the Wagstaff Circle Volunteer Fire Department is showing the community exactly what firefighters are battling every day.

The 63-year-old fire station is showing its age. A 30-year-old pitched roof needs to be replaced, crumbling concrete must be repaired and a new HVAC unit must be installed. Firefighters have been relying on big box fans to keep cool for a month now.
