Update: Massive fire at Massachusetts luxury apartment complex ruled arson

A 10-alarm fire that reduced a luxury apartment complex in Waltham to a smoldering pile of rubble last month and caused $110 million in damage was intentionally set, authorities said, and cash rewards are being offered in the hopes of catching whoever sparked the blaze. The 264-unit building on the banks of the Charles River went up in flames during the early morning hours of July 23 and the roaring inferno damaged two other nearby structures and at least 20 vehicles, according to a joint press release issued by State Fire Marshal Peter J.

Ohio teen faces vehicular homicide charges in crash into fire truck that killed two girls

A 16-year-old girl faces two counts of vehicular homicide and vehicular manslaughter in a crash into an Akron fire truck that killed two teenage girls. The July 14 crash killed, Briyana Hayes, 15, and Lashae Johnson, 16, both of Tallmadge. The driver is also charged with vehicular assault, operating a vehicle on a temporary permit without a licensed driver, operating a vehicle with more than one juvenile passenger and other traffic charges, Akron police Lt.

Four People Injured in Crash Involving Dallas Fire Apparatus

Authorities say four people were injured when a fire truck collided with a car in Dallas Thursday morning.
Dallas police said a Dallas Fire-Rescue truck was returning to the fire station when it collided with a sedan in the 7000 block of Great Trinity Forest Way near Jim Miller Road at 1:40 a.m.

Police said an 18-year-old woman driving the sedan changed lanes and turned in the past of the fire truck, which caused the fire truck to crash into the back of the sedan.

Teen Driver Charged in Fatal Crash with Akron Fire Apparatus

A 16-year-old Akron girl is facing charges in a deadly crash with an Akron fire truck. The crash happened on July 14 at West Exchange Street and South Rhodes Avenue in Akron. Police said the driver of a Chevrolet Trailblazer didn't stop at the red light.
The crashed claimed the lives of LaShae Johnson, 16, of Tallmadge, and Briyana Hayes, 15, of Akron.

The driver is charged with red light, two counts of vehicular homicide, two counts of vehicular manslaughter, vehicular assault, operating a vehicle on a temporary permit without a licensed driver and operating vehicle with more than one juvenile passenger. Her name was not released because she is a juvenile.
