VIDEO: An early-morning apartment fire in Everett displaced 51 people, according to Red Cross Northwest, and sent one person to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Among those forced out was a 12-year-old, Anaice, who documented the flames moments after escaping and is now saying goodbye to the only home she has ever known. After waking up to a fire alarm and the smell of smoke, she grabbed her younger brothers and helped them escape. She then captured an image of the building engulfed in flames and later shared it with KING 5.
“It was all on fire,” Anaice said. “And I was like, ‘Oh my goodness.’ I was scared. I was scared for my life.” Shortly before 4:30 a.m. on Monday, Everett Fire crews were dispatched to reports of a fire at Centrepointe Green Apartments along 18th Avenue West, in the Casino Center neighborhood just east of Paine Field. When they arrived, crews observed smoke and flames. South County Fire, Marysville Fire, Mukilteo Fire and Everett police assisted.
