A part of McMurray Street in Richland is shut down after a fire broke out at a Richland apartment complex Friday night. The call for help came in around 5:45 p.m. at the El Dorado townhomes on the 700 block of McMurray Street. Fire crews from Richland Fire and Emergency Services and the Kennewick Fire Department arrived on scene within a couple of minutes. Richland Police and utility trucks also arrived on scene to help.

Smoke can be seen coming from the building and firefighters are using a ladder truck to inspect the roof of one of the buildings. Firefighters are also on the ground, accessing the homes and a drone is also in the air flying above. At this time, it is unknown if anyone is hurt. Eight residents have been displaced after a fire at a triplex in Everett. The fire occurred in the 1100 block of Wetmore. Firefighters are now transitioning into overhaul operations after extinguishing the flames. No injuries have been reported. The City of Everett’s CAREs Team social workers are on scene assisting the displaced residents.

King County Search and Rescue says it received a charitable donation that will help it continue serving the community. Hand tool manufacturer Carona Tools gifted the search and rescue team with new cultivator tools used during searches for hikers and missing people across the county. A crucial portion of this operation is the tools that they use.

The team hopes that the new tools will help them replace older tools that might not be as effective or are broken. The rescue team is a nonprofit organization that works with different law enforcement agencies, particularly the King County Sheriff’s Office, to find missing people in the county. The team is made up of 600 volunteers trained to assist in search-and-rescue missions
