Two grants totaling $387,600 were awarded through the FEMA Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. The grants were supplied through FEMA’s 2016 grant cycle.

One grant falls under FEMA’s vehicle acquisition program, and the second grant falls under FEMA’s operations and equipment program.

“We are very excited about receiving the grants through FEMA,” said Rehobeth Fire Chief Todd Phillips. “The grants give us $275,000 toward a new fire truck, and $112,600 which will go toward new equipment needed by the department. The grants required a matching portion of $13,000. Thankfully, the Town of Rehobeth agreed to pay the matching funds we needed. If the town had not matched the funds our department would not have received the two grants.”
