The crew is part of an elite disaster response team known internationally as USA-2, which is trained to conduct around-the-clock search and rescue operations for both domestic and international disasters, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Pine Ridge houses three free trucks and they hold about 1,000 to 1,500 gallons of water.

This new truck carries 1,800 gallons of water, something Chief Ricky Flowers says is so important in a rural county that has water issues.

"Not only can it pump water whenever it gets to a fire it takes a lot of water with it. So that's really important to us especially in a rural setting. So, our goal whenever we show up is to have as much water as possible and this truck is a huge help to us," Flowers said.
