NFL Safety Damar Hamlin Tears Up as He Honors First Responders Who Saved His Life at ESPYS: 'It's a Blessing'

Damar Hamlin is giving the spotlight to those who helped save his life. The Buffalo Bills safety, 25, got emotional on stage at Wednesday night’s ESPY Awards as he honored the first responders who helped save his life after his cardiac arrest during a January game. Before handing them the Pat Tillman Award for Service, Hamlin told his story in a video, saying, “I didn't wake up that morning in January thinking that I would need someone to save my life that day, and I doubt that the staff thought that they had to do what they did either.

Fire Crews in Washington Moving from One Fire to Another

Many firefighters are being taken off the lines of the 2,300-acre Baird Springs Fire in Grant County. They’re making significant process and demobilizing with the fire 95-percent contained. The fire started June 10th and was a threat to homes near Quincy. All evacuation orders have been reduced to level one.

Crews rescue man, fight 2-alarm fire in vacant downtown Seattle apartment building

VIDEO: Firefighters rescued a man in a vacant apartment building after a two-alarm fire there sent clouds of black smoke into Downtown Seattle. The fire in the building off Ninth Avenue and Madison Street in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood started just after 10 p.m. Wednesday. Seattle Fire said 911 callers reported that flames were coming from the top floor of the four-story building.

81-year-old struck by suspected DUI driver inside Puyallup home

VIDEO/PHOTOS: An 81-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle that crashed into her home in Puyallup Thursday morning. The Puyallup Police Department (PPD) first tweeted about the crash on the 2100 block of 23rd Street Place Southeast just after 5:50 a.m. Thursday. Puyallup police said the 81-year-old was inside a room of their home when they were struck.

South County Fire offers free NARCAN kits, classes to inform community about opioid overdose

The number of opioid overdoses in Snohomish County is quickly outpacing the number of emergency medical personnel. South County Fire is looking to enlist as many everyday people as possible to help first responders address the crisis. The fire agency is hosting four free classes, ACT to Save a Life.
