Crews from Wenatchee and Chelan County Fire District 1 respond to diesel spill

Quick work by a truck driver and emergency responders Monday afternoon prevented a spill downtown of about 20 gallons of diesel from becoming worse. Matt Klym, driver for Hicks Transportation of Albany, Oregon, was pulling his Peterbilt 18-wheeler out of the parking lot of cold-storage facility, Lineage Logistics, when one of the rig’s fuel tanks scraped a bump in the pavement and lost the tank’s drain plug.

RCFD Adding to the Toolbox for Grain Bin Rescue

The Rapid City Fire Department got a first look at it's newest rescue tool, while training at Dakota Mill and Grain. The department is receiving a 10-panel system and slide hammer that will be housed at Station 7 in Rapid City.

Blaze evacuates apartments, burns brush truck in North Naples (FL)

NORTH NAPLES, Fla. A brush fire near Immokalee Road and Interstate 75 forced evacuations in two apartment complexes and destroyed a North Collier Fire Rescue District truck. The Malibu Lakes Apartments on 2115 Malibu Lakes Circle were evacuated, district spokeswoman Christina Silverman said. One building of Summer Lakes Apartments on 5520 Jonquil Lane was also evacuated, [...]

The approximately $200,000 truck is a total loss, according to the district.
