Vacant NE Spokane home catches fire for second time in two days

Early Wednesday morning firefighters responded to a fire in the 5000 block of N. Lee St. in northeast Spokane. Firefighters tell us they responded to a fire at the same home the day before, Tuesday afternoon. The cause of that fire was determined to be electrical but it’s not certain what caused the home to reignite.

Cannabis pipe cleaning sparks 2-alarm apartment fire, injures Bellingham woman

A Bellingham woman cleaning a marijuana pipe Tuesday set off a two-alarm fire that left her with minor burns, gutted her boyfriend’s apartment, and caused $100,000 in damage, according to the Bellingham Fire Department. On Tuesday morning the woman was using a torch to clean a cannabis pipe in a bedroom of Apt.

Shelby Township to Purchase New Extrication Equipment

The Shelby Township Board of Trustees approved the purchase of replacement extrication equipment for the Fire Department at the March 7 regular board meeting. Trustee Doug Wozniak made the motion, seconded by Clerk Stanley Grot, in support of passing this item. The motion passed unanimously.
The Fire Department will purchase one Hurst E-Draulic S700E2 Cutter Package, one Hurst E-Draulic SP555E2 Spreader Package, one Hurst E-Draulic R421E2 Ram Package and one Hurst E-Draulic AC/DC Converter Pack.

All Brown Counjty (IN) Fire Departments Getting $8,000 Boost

All six of Brown County's volunteer fire departments will get an equal share of "timber sale" money which Brown County received from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Each department - Brown County (Nashville), Cordry-Sweetwater, Fruitdale, Hamblen, Jackson and Van Buren - will receive $8,000. The county received a total of $86,975.99.
