City in Oklahoma to waive utility charges for surviving spouses of first responders killed in line of duty

Edmond will now waive utility charges for the surviving spouses of first responders killed in the line of duty. The City Council just made the vote on Monday night. The Edmond City Council approved the measure unanimously with city officials saying it really wasn’t a hard decision to make. f a police officer or firefighter is killed in the line of duty, their surviving spouse will never receive a utility bill from Edmond ever again, for the rest of their lives.

App provides mental health resources to first responders in Nevada

VIDEO: First responders don't hesitate to enter a dangerous situation to make sure our community members are safe. Often, they are so busy protecting the community, they forget to make sure they're protecting themselves by addressing their mental health. Semi-truck fire on I-90 ignites brush, prompts closure near Kittitas, Vantage Bridge

PHOTOS: Interstate 90 was closed near Kittitas and the Vantage Bridge after a semi-truck caught fire, leading to a brush fire Monday afternoon. According to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), the fire began around 1:30 p.m. I-90 was closed at eastbound milepost 115 near Kittitas and westbound at milepost 136 at the Vantage Bridge, the WSDOT tweeted.

Update: Explosion at large encampment near Seattle hospital may have been targeted attack

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A homeless encampment that exploded and burned outside Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Friday is being investigated as a targeted attack. The encampment is also being rebuilt in the exact same spot as of Monday, just days after the initial blaze. Located within 200 feet of the hospital's main entrance, the encampment erupted into flames early Friday morning with explosions visible from traffic camera video of the fire.
