When Arlington firefighters respond to drug overdoses, they could soon start bringing along enough doses of an opioid-reversal drug to leave some behind.
This is part of a statewide effort “to prevent fatal overdoses and increase community access” to the nasal spray Narcan, one form of the reversal drug called naloxone.

Longview Fire and Longview Police are investigating an RV fire that claimed one life early Wednesday morning.
Officials say Longview Fire responded to reports of a motorhome on fire, with explosions and heavy smoke.
Additional crews and an ambulance were added due to the size of the fire.
When firefighters arrived, they found the motorhome engulfed in flames.

Firefighters with Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue responded to a fire at a grocery store in Monroe Tuesday morning.
At 8:28 a.m., crews responded to the report of fire and smoke at Park Place Corner Grocery in the 17800 block of West Main Street in Monroe.
Firefighters quickly arrived and contained the fire within minutes.

Crews battled a two-alarm fire at a vacant building in Seattle’s Lake City neighborhood Wednesday morning.
Calls about the fire at Northeast 135th Street and Lake City Way Northeast came in just before 4:45 a.m. on Wednesday.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the building, according to Seattle Fire Department spokesman David Cuerpo.

Gov. Jay Inslee signed a bill into law Tuesday making sure things like job-related PTSD or cancer among firefighters and paramedics will be covered by insurance.
Back in 2021, KIRO 7 spoke with Olympia firefighter and paramedic Lance Slosson after he was diagnosed with severe PTSD. Lance was on duty when a 911 emergency called him to a car crash.
