No one was injured, but the incident briefly delayed the Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company truck from arriving to the fire call at the Oak Tree Apartments, located at 30 Wenark Drive near Newark.
The firetruck was on West Chestnut Hill Road, in the area of University Avenue, when an unknown person threw a glass bottle at the truck about 10 p.m., said Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale, state police spokesman. The bottle caused damage to the windshield of the 1997 firetruck.
