The Fourth of July is over but area hospitals are still waiting to see if more people will be rushed in after suffering injuries due to fireworks.
Two people, including a teenager, were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center after suffering devastating hand injuries at a popular field used to light fireworks in Auburn.

The Yakima Fire Department says two people had to leave their home, early Wednesday morning after a fire broke out.
Firefighters say around 12:31 a.m. a smoke detector went off, alerting the two people inside the double-wide home along the 800 block of N. 40th Ave. Yakima police got to the scene first and made sure both people made it out of the home safely.

Mike Kehren, Goodhue's fire chief and member of the Lions and Goodhue School Board, was killed early Monday when he fell off the tow bar between two hay wagons and was run over, according to Mike Lodermeier, a former fire chief and a member of the department.
"The whole town is in shock," said Dick Banidt, a fire captain and lifelong friend of Kehren, 58.

There are Fireworks and fire fears in one local community today. That's because Lorain laid off nearly 2 dozen firefighters as it fights to close a 3-point-6 million dollar deficit.
As we've been telling you, the fire department, is upset over the decision. Members now explain the layoffs couldn't have come at a more inconvenient time.
