A wreck involving a fire truck on Highway 75 has slowed traffic heading in both directions.
The truck crossed the median from the northbound to the southbound lanes and rolled a couple times, ending up in the west ditch. The tanker actually separated from the rest of the truck.
The driver of the fire truck, 47-year-old Michael Schultz of Hoyt, was killed. Social media posts described Schultz as a veteran firefighter. A passenger, 36-year-old Randy Smith of Mayetta, was taken to the hospital with injuries.

The blast in Greenwood blew off their helmets and pelted them with rubble, but the community gave those firefighters a special thanks Wednesday for the risks they are willing to take.
A team from fire station 21 was first on scene at a natural gas leak that filled a cluster of Greenwood businesses back on March 9, and they lived through the blast that has changed the community.

Firefighters are at the scene of a large house fire here Wednesday and must shuttle water in to fight it.
The area, in the 4640 block of Southeast 171st Street, does not have hydrants. So crews are using water tenders.

Firefighters responded to a fire in Kelso Tuesday evening after an 8-year-old lit a shed on fire by playing with a barbecue butane lighter, according to fire officials.
The dispatch reported black smoke and flames were coming from the backyard on the 500 block of South Fourth Avenue, threatening structures nearby.

Nearly 20 firefighters conducted a controlled burn Wednesday at a Thurston County prairie to kill invasive weeds and restore native plants.
The prescribed burn, a joint coordination between the Center for Natural Lands Management and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, was ignited at Mazama Meadows, a 134-acre Rochester flatland owned by CNLM.
