Firefighters doused a small fire overnight outside a home that neighbors say once belonged to the late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. Crews responded to the home, in the 100 block of Lake Washington Boulevard East, at about 2:30 a.m. after receiving 911 calls. The blaze started outside the home's garage and firefighters were able to extinguish the flames before they caused any damage to the home itself.

A St. Louis jury has awarded a city paramedic $50,000 on her claim that her boss, the chief of the city ambulance service, retaliated against her after she filed a grievance. Laticha Green, 42, of St. Louis, sued the city and Steven Kotraba in 2014, alleging race discrimination and retaliation for filing a grievance against him.
