ALL ICC MEMBERS: VOTE NOW TO DEFEND HOME FIRE SPRINKLERS. VOTING DEADLINE – MAY 26, 2016. The requirement for all new homes to have home fire sprinklers has been included in the International Residential Code (IRC) for the past three editions, and because of this requirement, over 100,000 families now live in sprinklered homes.

The last thing Fire Chief Brian Rooney might have wanted was a City Hall reception, but members of the department he led for 10 years insisted on a chance to say thank you.
So Rooney, his wife Adrianna, and their two grown children greeted well-wishers and listen to a proclamation declaring Friday “Chief Brian Rooney Day” in Bridgeport.

Josh is a student at the Arc of Tri-Cities and he loves firefighters. Fire Station #83 treated him to a whole day full of firefighter activities. He got to take a look at all the trucks they have.
Firefighters even presented him with his own Pasco Firefighters baseball hat and t-shirt. As an added bonus, Josh got his own firefighter helmet.

Washington's wildfire season got off to an abrupt and early start this month when two separate blazes tore through dry, steep forest, fueling worries about what lies ahead.
Fire officials say they were surprised to see wildfires burning this early west of the Cascades Mountains, particularly one that scorched nearly 300 acres about 60 miles from Seattle.
