Bellevue Police: 4-time arsonist charged in new blaze sought 'release'

Four times, Constatin Deaconu has been caught setting homes on fire. Twice, the Bellevue man has been sent to a state mental hospital after being acquitted due to insanity. As it turns out, Deaconu lights fires when he's not well. Any guesses as to what Deaconu, 53, is accused of now? For the third time since 1996, Deaconu has been charged with arson after a blaze at his family's Bellevue home.

Vancouver firefighters battle house fire in Rose Village

Flames erupted Wednesday afternoon inside an occupied home in Vancouver’s Rose Village neighborhood. No one was injured. Fire crews from the Vancouver Fire Department responded about 3:50 p.m. to reports of a house fire at 3415 V St. One of the occupants, Terrence Vetter, who is renting the space with his wife, noticed smoke inside the home and called 911, according to Vancouver fire Capt.

Russell (KS) Receives Ladder Fire Apparatus

The Russell City Fire Department received a used ladder fire truck March 29 that the Russell City Council approved the purchase of last year. An inspection last year of the city's former ladder fire truck found many serious deficiencies and the truck was taken out of service in February of 2015.
Fire Chief Shane Preston immediately began the nationwide search for a replacement and struck out a few times, but eventually found this truck through a company called Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus.

Driver Hurt After Van Strikes Clearwater Fire Apparatus

A 47-year-old driver was cited Wednesday after his van struck a Clearwater Fire & Rescue truck at Cleveland Street and Betty Lane. Heriberto Pabon of Tampa was cited for failure to yield to emergency vehicle. He was treated at Morton Plant for possible leg injury.
Police say preliminary information indicates Pabon was traveling on Betty Lane and failed to stop for the fire truck, which was eastbound on Cleveland Street. None of the three firefighters on board Engine 45 was injured.
