Seven people were hurt in a crash between a D.C. firetruck and a MetroAccess van in Northeast D.C. Wednesday morning. The accident was reported around 9:40 a.m. at 11th Street and Maryland Avenue NE. A D.C. Fire & EMS spokesperson said D.C. Fire Engine 10 was responding on a call for a gas leak when the collision occurred.

fire apparatus collided with a van Wednesday, injuring seven people, according to a news report.
Four
firefighters and three civilians were hurt in the
crash. One firefighter reportedly suffered serious injuries, and two civilians were critical.
The van was previously a MetroAccess vehicle. D.C. Fire Engine 10 was responding on a call for a gas leak when the collision occurred, the report said.

A natural gas explosion rocked a Seattle neighborhood early Wednesday, sending nine firefighters to the hospital and reducing businesses to rubble.
Crews were responding to reports of a natural gas leak when the explosion happened along the main thoroughfare of the city's Greenwood neighborhood, just north of downtown, Seattle Fire Department spokeswoman Corey Orvold said.

His friends — girlfriend Marisa Fernandez and roommate Jake Schipper — heard the thud and splash, too, as the group strung up a hammock on a drizzly Saturday, March 5, at an outcropping that overlooks Wildcat Cove at Larrabee State Park.
