PIERCE MANUFACTURING INC. recently announced an order for six Pierce® Dash® CF custom fire and emergency vehicles from the Central County Fire & Rescue Fire Protection District (CCFR) in Saint Peters, Missouri. The purchase includes five pumpers and one aerial platform. All will be delivered in late 2016.

Each of the five identical pumpers features a Detroit DD13 470-hp engine, TAK-4® independent front suspension, side-roll and frontal-impact protection systems, and Pierce’s Command Zone™ multiplex system. Each vehicle also includes a 1,500-gpm Pierce PUC pump, a 600-gallon water tank, a Husky™ 12 dual-agent foam system, and low-mounted crosslays.

The Dash CF 100-foot aerial platform is equipped with a DD13 525-hp engine, TAK-4 independent front suspension, and side-roll and frontal-impact protection systems. It features a PUC pump, a 400-gallon water tank, and a Husky 12 dual-agent foam system and carries a full complement of ground ladders.

THE PENNWELL FIRE GROUP, publishers of Fire Engineering, FireRescue, and Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment and producers of the world-renowned FDIC International firefighter training event, has recently joined forces with Tule Fog Productions LLC, of Lake Balboa, California, creators of TheBattalion.tv Network, to launch the new “Firefighter True Reality Series” on fireengineering.com. The series can be found on fireengineering.com under the “Resources” section with links to Webisodes on fire, rescue, EMS, training, and series that are geographically based. New Webisodes are released every other Sunday on TheBattalion.tv site. Future endeavors between the PennWell Fire Group and Tule Fog Productions include segments focused on Family and Department Traditions as well as Apparatus on Real Calls, which will be made available on PennWell Fire Group’s sister Web sites, firefighternation.com, fireapparatus.com, and FDIC.com later in 2016.

HME, INCORPORATED, announced that the Barnstead (NH) Fire Rescue recently took delivery of an HME Model 34 Type III wildland unit. Built on an International 7400 4x4 chassis, the truck features a 27-inch pump house that incorporates HME Hydra Technology™ with a Darley JMP-500 500-gpm pump.

The Type III also utilizes a Darley 1-1/2AGE 180-gpm auxiliary pump. Additional features include a FoamPro 1600 Class A foam system, a Hannay booster reel, a galvanized tank cradle, and an NFPA-compliant ladder complement.

SMEAL FIRE APPARATUS CO. announced that Fire Apparatus Solutions (FAS), the authorized sales and service dealer for Smeal™, US Tanker™, and LTC™ brand apparatus in southern California, has expanded its territory to the entire state. This follows a merger with Smeal’s company-owned sales operation in northern California to expand its sales team and coverage.

Joining FAS from the northern California sales operation, Scott Beck has been appointed sales manager and will lead sales and business development efforts for FAS. Fire Apparatus Solutions was established in 2005 and is owned and operated by William Kalmikov.
