A panel that is supposed to advise D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser on emergency medical services policy says it can’t get any information from the mayor or the fire department in order to make recommendations.
“We have got to have the transparency that she says she’s all about,” Anne Renshaw, vice chair of the Emergency Medical Services Advisory Committee (EMSAC), said at a meeting Thursday.

Recently, I made a leadership presentation to a group of firefighters in the Yakima Valley, Wash. My first task was to get oriented with the teaching venue and my soon-to-be audience.
As part of my standard preparation routine, I closely observed the on-stage speaker. I will admit that my purpose was to watch for the crowd's reaction to the instructor's delivery style.

VIDEO - A video obtained by the Times Leader and posted to YouTube from a fire in the borough Saturday has gained a lot of attention and questions have risen regarding the actions of people in the video.
During a fire at the Exeter Gardens apartment complex at 500 Schooley Avenue, Danny Fernandez filmed a clip with his cell phone of the back of Building J engulfed in flames.

Surveillance video shot from inside an Everett gas station shows a driver hop a curb and crash into a gas pump, causing a fiery explosion.
The crash happened Saturday at about 7:30 a.m. at a Valero gas station in the 11800 block of Highway 99.
Shari Ireton with the Snohomish County sheriff's office said the 31-year-old driver likely fell asleep at the wheel just before he plowed into the gas pump.
