2 Tacoma fire recruits accused of EMT test cheating, termination recommended

An investigation by the Tacoma Fire Department determined two new recruits cheated on an EMT test and recommended they be terminated, despite acknowledgement from a private company involved that an "administrative error" allowed the pair to get questions ahead of time. A department spokesperson also called the incident "not malicious" and a "coincidence.

Fire damages Kennewick apartment complex

A father and son doing laundry spotted a fire that broke out Thursday afternoon at the Edison Village Green Apartments in Kennewick. Junior Leos, 14, walked out of the laundry area about 4 p.m. when he noticed an upstairs apartment had caught fire. “There was a bunch of black smoke coming out,” he said.

South Sioux City Moving Ahead with Plans for New Fire Station

A new expansion project for the City of South Sioux City is moving forward thanks in part to a big loan. 
USDA Rural Development announcing that the South Sioux City Community Foundation is receiving an almost $2.6 million dollars loan to help with the construction of a new fire station.

he 12,000 square foot station will have several features not found in the current station including sleeping areas allowing crews to stay at the station 24-7. The station will encompass four standard drive through bays, wash bays as well as office space.
