Illinois police officer killed in crash with ambulance

A South Jacksonville police officer died after the squad car he was driving turned into the path of an ambulance as both vehicles were headed to an emergency medical call on Friday night. Scot Fitzgerald, 32, died in the crash that happened at 8:54 p.m. on Illinois 267 about one mile north of Nortonville Road, near Murrayville in Morgan County.

Colorado firefighters train at night on extrications

VIDEO: When the job is saving lives, Kyle Vaughn's job is to make sure firefighters do it right, especially at night. "We’ve done a lot of daytime trainings, but we haven’t done a lot of nighttime trainings and we've done a lot of night time extrications," Vaughn said, "So, we wanted to bring some realism into our training.

Kent Regional Fire Authority receives vehicle fleet accreditation

The Kent Regional Fire Authority is proud to announce that after many months of hard work, we have received our National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA) accreditation. NAFA is the only recognized accreditation program in the country for vehicle fleets. NAFA’s accreditation status is important to our department because it provides a singular set of standards and unique tools that help vehicle fleets measure, track, and score accomplishments towards sustainability.

Laramie County Fire District #5 Welcomes New Fire Truck

The 2015 International water tender / pumper can carry 2,000 gallons of water and pump up to 750 gallons per minute.

LCFD#5 says the pumper can carry 2,000 gallons of water and pump up to 750 gallons per minute and that it's primary use will be for hauling water to rural locations and pumping water to their engines. This is especially important for rural communities since water is often scarce in the areas of southeastern Wyoming where grass fires are prone to begin.
