A seriously injured man was pulled from the chilly waters at the north end of Lake Union on Tuesday morning, but died at the scene, police and fire officials said.
Officers and medics responded to the area near Stone Way North and N. Northlake Way at about 6:45 a.m. after receiving a 911 call about a body in the lake.

Snohomish County Fire District 1 took to the water Monday morning to do some water rescue training.
Fire District 1 tweeted a photo of the rescue training and said “It’s not too cold for water rescue training at Martha Lake.”
Martha Lake had a high of 46 degrees Monday. According to MyForecast, Martha Lake’s water temperature was about 48 degrees.
