At least 100 people are out of their homes, one person is dead, and a dozen were treated at local hospitals after a fire destroyed part of The Bluffs at Evergreen apartment complex on New Year's Eve. Seven apartments burned and 23 units received smoke damage. The first 911 call came in at 7:09 p.m., and firefighters were on scene five minutes later, according to Eric Hicks, Assistant Fire Marshal.

Arson investigators are working Thursday to figure out who started an overnight fire at Marysville Pilchuck High School.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at around midnight after an alarm sounded.
The fire burned a portable classroom used by student athletes. Fire officials say there was recycling bin next to the building, and that's where the fire started.

An autobody shop was damaged Wednesday when it caught fire, according to the Tacoma Fire Department.
The blaze was reported about 11 a.m. near South Tacoma Way and South 72nd Street. Crews extinguished the fire in about 30 minutes. No one was hurt.
Police blocked off South 74th Street at South Tacoma Way while firefighters battled the fire and mopped up.
