Firefighters save family pet over roar of flames near Kent

An early morning house fire just outside of Kent has firefighters sounding the alarm on safety precautions when using pellet stoves. Sunday's fire spread inside of a house on 164th Avenue Southeast just outside of Kent. A family of five managed to escape but firefighters had to rescue one of the family pets.

Woman critically injured in Vancouver house fire

A woman was taken to a burn unit in critical condition early Sunday morning after a fire trapped her inside the attached garage of an east Vancouver home, fire officials said. Two dogs died in the blaze, and four more people sustained minor injuries while attempting to free the woman from the garage, which she had been living in with the dogs, officials said.

Crews control grain elevator fire in Wilson Creek

Grant County leaders said crews were able to control a grain elevator fire in Wilson Creek. Grant County Fire Districts 12 and 13, and the Grant County Sheriff's Office all responded around 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The fire broke out on the Burlington Santa Fe line in a grain elevator. At 5:30 p.m. fire crews said the fire was controlled, but was expected to burn for awhile longer.
