A man was found dead - with the body of his faithful dog beside him - after a house fire Friday morning in Shoreline, officials said. Four others were able to escape the flames.
Firefighters responded to the home, in the 700 block of North 201st Street, at about 5 a.m. after receiving 911 calls about the blaze.

A mother who went back into a burning Philadelphia home to save her young child died in the fire, along with the toddler.
The mother was pregnant, family members told NBC10. The fire started about 3:45 a.m. Friday inside a home in the 2800 block of N. 4th Street near Cambria Street.
Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Derrick Sawyer said a family member initially tried to fight the fire alone.

One person was killed in a raging fire that destroyed a Tacoma home in moments early Friday, officials said.
Crews responded to the blaze, near East Spokane Street and East 40th Street, at around midnight after receiving reports of smoke and flames spewing from the home.
By the time firefighters arrived, the house was fully ablaze.
